A minor schadenfreude moment
Aug. 9th, 2011 01:27 pm2007. South Africa is announced to host the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
2008-2009. The British press goes totally "mental" with the SA meme, claiming "You'll be mugged, raped, HIV'ed, killed if you go to SA!!!"
2010. Come FIFA World Cup, none of the above happens, not even close to the extent predicted by the media, and not a pinch more than the usual situation in any World Cup hosting country in the past.

2011. Mass riots across major towns in UK.
2012. Summer Olympics in London. Now... Will you get mugged, raped, set on fire if you go to UK?
