Trump has kicked the GOP in the gonads twice this last week. One: his gun control remarks, potentially angering the gun lobby; and two: out of the blue, he threatened tariffs on China and a number of other countries, potentially provoking a unwanted trade war with virtually everybody. The GOP hates both ideas.

So the question arises...
