My fear is that we may not want to do/perform too much alternate history on this particular topic/era in time. The fear is that, eventually, the sufferings of those peoples' past will gradually be downplayed and reduced entirely.

Too many of these type story-lines could potentially desensitize the generations of young Americans to come. Too many of these type story-lines might even potentially erase the reality of that historical time in America. I'm obviously very weary of not presenting historical times in a historically accurate manner :/
