Cape Town is tops, says NYT

There are 52 weeks in the year, and 52 places to visit in the world in 2014 according to the New York Times, which has put Cape Town at the top of that list.
Hailing its year as World Design Capital and the effect the design-oriented events will have on the city, the prestigious US paper placed the Mother City above the likes of Los Angeles, Iceland, Seychelles, Namibia and Ecuador as the hottest destination on the planet for the year ahead.
The city was also voted top destination in the world at the Telegraph Travel Awards in London late last year.
